FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Nashua, NH / Amsterdam, September 9, 2008 – NextComputing, maker of high-performance mobile workstations and servers, will be exhibiting systems with several solution partners at IBC 2008 from September 12-16 in Amsterdam.
The systems on display will be from NextComputing's flagship NextDimension "flextop" line. The mobile NextDimension workstation provides the high-end graphics and throughput performance necessary to adapt to a wide range of the most demanding digital broadcast and production applications, as well as web streaming and presentation recording systems for OEMs and resellers.
NextComputing's briefcase-style NextDimension system weighs around 20 pounds (depending on configuration) and is available with an integrated 17" HD-ready display (1920 x 1200). This mobile powerhouse supports up to two quad-core processors, 24GB RAM, multiple PCI Express expansion slots, and a variety of internal fixed and swappable hard drive configurations totaling more than a terabyte of storage.
Digital media applications benefiting from NextComputing's mobile solutions include:
• 3D broadcast graphics generation
• Real-time HD media encoding
• Live event webcasting and rich media presentations
• Uncompressed HD digital cinema and broadcast production (DDR/VTR replacement)
• On-set "pre-post," including effects pre-visualization, compositing, editing, and color grading
• Field acquisition server and data recorder for remote location shooting
• Digital audio workstation
Nextcomputing has also recently announced the availability of NVIDIA’s Quadro® FX 4600 SDI and Quadro® FX 5600 SDI on its portable, NextDimension Evo HD workstations. The compact Evo HD is an ideal hardware platform for production field work with powerful applications such as IRIDAS' SpeedGrade XR for real-time coloring, grading, and review, or RT Software's tOG suite of real-time 3D broadcast graphics software.
The NextDimension will be utilized by the following solution partners at IBC:
