AFAA, the world's largest fitness educator, announced this month that it will offer its distinguished personal trainer certifications at lower prices during a special nationwide event in February 2009.
The Aerobics Professional Exposition, also known as APEX, is the industry's answer to maintaining a strong job force of personal trainers, group exercise instructors and kickboxing instructors during this economy. The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America aims to fulfill club's demand for high-quality personal trainer staff with this event.
The goal of February 2009 APEX is to make high-quality certifications affordable through its hallmark $99-a-day-per-program workshops. Certification costs, which include study materials and exams, range in the hundreds, according to industry surveys.
AFAA certifications are widely recognized within the industry and highly desirable at major clubs. AFAA certifies in personal training, group exercise, Step aerobics and Kickboxing. In addition to those certifications, AFAA educates and trains people within other desired specialties that include Pilates, Yoga, Indoor Cycling, Injury Prevention and more.
APEX is scheduled to go from Feb. 6-8 at more than 20 U.S. cities, including major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Orlando. Additional international locations such as Germany, Italy and the Philippines are also available.
Early registration is recommended for special discounts in AFAA's new products. Those new programs include "A Taste of ... Zumba" Home Study, a package that introduces instructors to the dance-fitness phenomenon created by Zumba® Fitness; the "OsteoBall® Training for Bone Health" Home Study, the complete guide to training clients with bone and joint conditions; and Telexercise® Resistance Training, AFAA's new online exercise resistance training program.
