Kidz-IDz Promotes School Safety

2008-03-04, Kidz-IDz
Cherry Hill, NJ – March 4, 2008 - Recent studies show that providing a safe school environment is the number one concern of school administrators, today. In fact, school safety is in the forefront of everyone’s mind - administrators, teachers, and parents alike. As a proponent of child safety, Kidz-IDz offers two different programs to help schools create a safer school environment.

Program A: Kidz-IDz Free School ID Card Program
The first step in making a school a safer place is prohibiting outsiders from roaming freely on school grounds. There are several steps that may be taken to accomplish this. The first step is to be able to easily identify who belongs on school property, versus who does not. The Kidz-IDz Free School ID Card Program enables schools to take this first step, for free. By providing every student with an official School ID Card, schools can not only identify students from non-students on school property, but also they can easily identify their own students from other children during field trips. By participating in this free program, schools enable all of their students to get a hard plastic School ID Card which identifies them as a student attending the school. Because the ID Card includes valuable medical information in addition to important personal data, it not only makes the school a safer place, but also is helpful in the event of a medical emergency. Specifically, each fully customized ID Card is imprinted with:

• school’s name, address, & phone number
• student’s color photo
• student’s first initial & last name
• student’s date of birth, height, & weight
• student’s eye color, hair color, & gender
• student’s medical conditions and allergy info
• emergency contact name with three phone numbers
• optional medical release section

In addition to the free School ID Card, each student also receives a free Electronic ID. An Electronic ID is recommended as the fastest solution for transferring key information in the event of a missing child episode or a medical emergency. It enables parents to store their child’s photo and descriptive details on their home computer, and includes other helpful files to help prevent and react to an emergency. Note that while the ID Card and Electronic ID are free, parents (not the school) submit a nominal shipping & handling fee.

Program B: Kidz-IDz Scratch to Save Lives Fundraising Program
Getting free School ID Cards is a great first step in making a school a safer place. The second step in prohibiting outsiders from roaming freely on school grounds varies from school to school. Some districts elect to install automatic entry systems, other districts invest in surveillance & communication equipment, and so on. While the specific step taken to further restrict access to the school varies, what stays the same is that there is an expense to purchase and install the safety equipment. Once again, schools are at a financial disadvantage – there is a universal lack of funding to purchase the equipment necessary to be proactive about safety in today’s alarmingly dangerous world. Once again, Kidz-IDz can help. The Kidz-IDz Scratch to Save Lives Fundraising Program requires no financial investment, yet enables schools to earn money quickly – and easily! Unlike other fundraisers, it costs nothing for schools to participate in this program. Here’s a brief outline on how the program works:

* Kidz-IDz provides the school with our Scratch to Save Lives Scratch Cards. Unlike other fundraisers, they do not have to prepay for these materials or any shipping & handling fees.
* The school provides each student with one (or more) scratch cards, so that they may ask friends & family to scratch a circle on their scratch card, and then donate the amount revealed.
* Each scratch card has a total dollar value of $125, of which the school keeps $100. The remaining $25 gets submitted to Kidz-IDz at the end of the fundraiser. In addition, we give schools 10% extra scratch cards for free. They keep the entire $125 on these extra scratch cards. When you add it all up, the school keeps 90% of the money raised from the scratch cards they ordered.
* In addition to the money raised, there are two other wonderful benefits. First, each donor receives a free, hard plastic Child Photo ID Card and Electronic ID (a $30 value - for free). Second, on behalf of each donor, Kidz-IDz provides a Child Photo ID Card and Electronic ID to an underprivileged child, also for free.

To help alleviate the pressure school administrators are facing to make their school a safe environment, Kidz-IDz is proud to offer these two FREE programs that enable schools to be proactive about the students’ safety. We not only invite schools to participate in both of our programs, but we also encourage them to investigate other products that may be used to increase the safety of the school. Note that while other safety measures may not be free like ours, the funds raised from our Scratch to Save Lives Fundraising Program provide the perfect way to pay for them. Schools may enroll in either program on-line at www.kidzidz.com.
