From Ink to Ice: TLC’s Miami Ink and LA Ink Tattoos Featured on High End Apparel from Ice It by Bebe Z
Ice It by Bebe Z, Inc. today announced that it will unveil the first luxury line of tattoo-inspired clothing based on the designs of tattoo artists from TLC’s innovative TV series Miami Ink and the successful spin-off LA Ink.

– Ice It by Bebe Z, Inc. today announced that it will unveil the first luxury line of tattoo-inspired clothing based on the designs of tattoo artists from TLC’s innovative TV series Miami Ink and the successful spin-off LA Ink. Ice It by Bebe Z’s partnership with Discovery Commerce, the licensing arm of Discovery Communications, will accelerate Ice It by Bebe Z’s segue into the world of high fashion as they recreate the tattoo art with high-end fabrics, crystals, rhinestones and studs. The never-before-seen men’s and women’s collections are set to launch August 25 at the MAGIC apparel show in Las Vegas.
“Ice It by Bebe Z is the first high end collection in our apparel program,” said Julie Ann Robertson, VP of Marketing & Licensing for Discovery Commerce. “Although we have had an extensive program in place since 2005, we saw this as an extraordinary opportunity to expand to a wider distribution including high-end boutiques and retailers."
Miami Ink is a series that challenges cultural stereotypes of tattoos and shows how talented the tattoo artists really are. Shot in a documentary fashion with shop owner Ami James' narration, the show follows both patrons, who explain the deeper meaning behind their requested tattoo, and the artists who apply their exceptional talent on the skin of their clients. In the spin-off LA Ink, Kat Von D, one of the featured artists on the first two seasons of Miami Ink, teams up with two of the most respected female tattoo artists and one legendary male artist to break the glass ceiling and work at the newest and hottest tattoo shop in Los Angeles.
MAGIC is the preeminent trade event in the international fashion industry, hosting global buyers and sellers of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, footwear, accessories and sourcing resources. The trade show takes place August 25 – 27, 2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Las Vegas Hilton. Ice It by Bebe Z’s booth 20940 is located in the Chrome Neighborhood on the main floor in the south hall. After the launch the retail campaign will expand to include specialty and department store retail chains such as Bloomingdale’s.
Other collections in the Ice It by Bebe Z portfolio include designs for the National Hockey League, the Collegiate Licensing Company and MGM Consumer Products’ PiNKiTUDE line.
