Debt Shield, a Maryland-based debt settlement company, is launching its third annual United Way fundraising drive this October to collect and donate funds for the United Way of Central Maryland.

"As the holiday season approaches, it's important that we keep the true meaning of the giving season in mind," said Jill Strider, Debt Shield's Talent Development Director. "It's always heartwarming to see how the staff at Debt Shield takes the time to do our part and help those who are less fortunate."

The United Way of Central Maryland works to improve the lives of Marylanders by targeting root causes of the most difficult problems facing Maryland residents. Debt Shield has chosen to partner with the United Way of Central Maryland every year during the holiday season as a way to benefit the local community.

"Everyone has a vested interest in a stronger community – economically and socially," said Strider. "I am personally very proud of the efforts our team members make to improve lives within their community in addition to those of consumers enrolled in our debt settlement program."
