Health Care Most Important Issue for Parents in 2008 Election, National Parenting Survey Finds

ARLINGTON, MA - MARCH 4, 2008 – With the 2008 presidential nominations right around the corner, an independent parenting magazine survey finds healthcare ranks as the most important issue for parents– and will be making their voting choices based on it.

The survey, sponsored by Parents for Parents™ Magazine (www.ParentsforParentsMag.com), found 40% of adult parents surveyed chose healthcare as the key election issue, with education following at 28%.

"With the recession looming, and more people losing jobs more people will be uninsured or under-insured. It’s not surprising that this is a huge issue for parents,” says S.K Joun, publisher of Parents for Parents, who is also a parent and author. “After all, who wants to have to worry about medical costs when you have a child in need?"

The poll also revealed other issues important to parents:

• War in Iraq- 11%

• Environment- 8%

• Immigration- 2%

• Social Security- 2%

The survey was conducted by Parents for Parents™ magazine between December 2007 and January 2008. For more information, visit www.ParentsforParentsMag.com.
