Mumbai 11/10/2008- Katrina Kaif is a well known name of Bollywood. One of the leading actresses of the industry today, she has set an example for the other newcomers to follow by earning success at so much early in her career. In fact, top of the line directors are lining outside her door to sign her up for their venture. The recent name added to this list is renowned director Prakash Jha.

The actress too has given her nod of approval to the coveted project. Apparently Jha was keen on signing Katrina as he found her apt for the role opposite Ranbir. He also commented on the versatile status of the actress that makes her look good with actors of all age. Katrina at first wasn’t too warmed up about the subject but upon reading the script she indulgently signed it up because she fell in love with her character. “I didn't think I was ready to do something like this. But then I heard the script and I couldn't resist it. Maybe because Prakashji is such a good narrator, I fell in love with my character. I'm doing enough hardcore commercial films. At this juncture of my career I can afford to do something that challenges me. As long as the script is entertaining, I'm all for it.”

She is pretty excited to play such a different role which is heard to be a very powerful character in this modern adaptation of Mahabharata.
