Mizlou Television Network Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary With Launch of Mizlou-TVSports.Com IPTV Network

Mizlou Television Network, which began in 1968 broadcasting the Peach Bowl to a nationwide broadcast television audience, is launching a full time advertising supported free internet television network in December.

For 40 years, Mizlou has been a leading independent TV network, producing and distributing a wide array of sports and entertainment such as college bowl games, NIT Basketball, NASCAR Racing, NASL Soccer, Arena Football, the Professional Rodeo Cowbots Association, and the WBC Masters Bowling Championship.

The Mizlou-TVSports.Com IPTV network will feature the library of more than 1,000 Mizlou TV events from the past 40 years, plus new sports programming from events not currently seen on national TV.

"We have a long history of geting sports and entertainment events established through our national TV coverage," said Mizlou CEO Vic Piano. "Many events begun with Mizlou broadcasts have blossomed into big media properties."

None, of course is bigger than NASCAR, which until Mizlou covered the sports in the 1980's, never had a regular national TV presence. From those telecasts, NASCAR has grown into a major TV sporting event on multiple majoe TV networks.

In the 1990's Mizlou Classic Sports could be seen on the Nostalgia TV Network, then the Classic Sports Network.
Today much of it is carried on a VOD basis by TV4U.Com. Now, the Mizlou Classic Sports return home under the Mizlou-TVSports.Com umbrella.

New sports productions will also be a major portion of the Mizlou-TVSports.Com programming menu. Mizlou is drawing from its vast contacts in the TV sports world to bring back many viewer and sponsor favorites.

"We were very successful in marketing tavern sports such as arm wrestling, boxing, bowling, and darts on national television," Piano continued. "We're now able to get these same sponsors an audience of millions of viewers via the new digital TV age. Plus, there are always oppotunities in the traditional TV sports such as football and basketball to present many events worthy of national TV distribution"
