The range of brown art is all painted and designed by resident BOSHart artist Catherine Smith. Catherine specialises in contemporary and abstract art and views brown art as a key requirement by so many of the BOSHart customer.

Catherine Smith, resident artist states:

"There are a number of reasons that brown is such an important colour and one of the key reasons here is that it is a very natural colour. Look at any part of nature and you will see this colour used very prominently. Good art always mirrors nature and this is another reason why artists frequently like to use brown in Abstract Art.

"So when choosing a piece of abstract art, do look at and consider artwork that includes the colour brown. Brown paintings will really add a certain emotion and feel to any room in which they are hung. There are obviously other aspects to take into consideration - for example, style and size and texture but the colour is often the most important element.

"The final thing to bear in mind is the room in which you are going to hang the painting. It is crucial to look and assess the room carefully and work out what is going to work best and what colour will complement or sit most comfortably with the other colours and styles."
