TALLAHASSEE, FL, July 25, 2008 -- As Leon County continues its progress towards growth and expansion the needs of the citizens also become more demanding. Rising taxes, economic instability, and the housing crisis are all at the heart of the citizens. Likewise, citizens rely on local leaders as well as local law enforcement agencies to continue serving their communities efficiently and progressively despite the current economic climate. As the candidate advocating a new direction in Leon County law enforcement, Tommy Mills vows to make efficient use of current resources, foster collaboration and cooperation among all local law enforcement agencies for better crime solving capabilities, and employing innovative solutions to making Leon County a better, safer community to live in.

Some will agree with the cliché that “if it’s not broken don’t fix it,” but after so many years of the same old administration the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has become stale in its operations over time and has not adjusted to the changing dynamics of the county’s citizens. In his run for Leon County Sheriff Tommy Mills will stand for a “New Day, New Direction, and a New Sheriff” for Leon County residents. His platform and focal point once elected sheriff will stand on four strong pillars: 1) reducing the escalating crime rate in Leon County, 2) improving crime solving capabilities to rid the county of career criminals, 3) protecting children and their school environment, 4) and protecting the senior population from physical and financial exploitation and abuse. Once elected as the new sheriff of Leon County on August 26th, 2008 Tommy Mills vows to create a Sheriff’s administration that citizens can once again come to believe in and rely on.

“The citizens of Leon County want to believe in law enforcement and as Sheriff my leadership will restore citizens' confidence. I will work hands on in the community to fight crime at its source and open up the lines of communications within all law enforcement agencies,” Tommy Mills for Leon County Sheriff.
